What is Blue Peter? I just read on BBC News Online that Caron Keating died (she used to be a BP presenter), but it says NOTHING about what the show is! Is it some kind of kids' adventure/journalism/activity show? Help!

Re: Blue Peter
Wed, April 21, 2004 - 7:26 AMI suppose watching them construct Christmas Candle holders out of wire coathangers and tinsel could be construed as comedy, or firing people for narcotic misuse...
But it's an ongoing childrens program that is more of an institution - usually three presenters, after the kids programs and before the news.
You could win, or be presented, with a Blue Peter Badge - coveted for free entr into museums et al.
People entered competioitions and lied about their age....
I could go on,
But I already have.... -

Sun, June 19, 2005 - 11:25 PMIt was a little before my time, although the archive film of the elephant doing its business in the studio is a great laugh.
Of course John Noakes provided us with plenty of laughs.
Coincidentally, Peter Purvess appears in episode 5 of The Office in the training video.
I didnt hear of the passing of Caron Keating until today, she was well after my time, although sad news all the same. -
