Re: Little Britain
Wed, January 26, 2005 - 10:59 PMit *is* good, in my controversial opinion:
for one episode...
after which, the same routines and catchphrases are churned out ad infinitum so as not to disappoint those that might have missed the first episode.
they're both really great and funny and creative people. *sigh* matt lucas is truly hilarious as george dawes, the drummer dressed in a babygro who kept the scores for vic reeves and bob mortimer's 'shooting stars' quiz show. anyone?
i'll get my coat... -

Wed, March 16, 2005 - 1:46 PMAgreed! It's great but a little "hit n' miss" at times.
Now if they could just arrange a "Little Britain/Ali G" crossover then I'd get my fix of chav jokes... :-) -

Re: Little Britain
Tue, March 22, 2005 - 4:57 AMLittle britain is amazingly funny, yes it uses the same jokes all the time, but for a lot of the characters that's part of its charm, you 'know it's coming', like if lou tells andy something you'r ejust waiting for 'yeh.. i know' or the W.I women from season two who throw up when they find out they'e eaten something baked by anyone other than a middle class white english person..
"mmm tangy...tell me my dear...did you make this?" (to the white scout troup leader)
"no" she says shaking her head and pointing to small indian woman at a fete stall 'it was baloo'
You crease up with laughter before she even begins to gag because you KNOW it's coming, obviously how long they can stretch the joke out for it another story but for now its great!
They've just screened a 'comic relief' charity special over here, Robbie williams became 'Emily and florences' new 'lady friend' 'Roberta Williams' after stumbling into their little shop 'Emily and florences ladies things..for ladies'
Elton John was interviewed by Davith for the llaneweue BRevvy gazette, George michael was the guest of honour at Andys birthday meal "i don't like him..."
And vicky pollard went on Trisha (the uk equivalent or rolonda or ricki lake) to meet her real dad 'Shurrup trisha goddard yoor a roight minger, just cos youre well jealous cos all the guys are lookin between me legs at me camels hoof...so SHURRUP"
catch it if u can! -

They did already, but hopefully they'll show the second season soon. (No doubt with a re-run of the first to lead into it.) -

Mon, May 23, 2005 - 2:07 AMDepp was a huge fan of the Fast Show and appeared in it too, these facts about him certainly make him a top Hollywood star with great taste for me.
I love Lou and Andy, "I don't wan it!"

Re: Little Britain
Mon, June 27, 2005 - 7:44 AMI always think it sucks the way the region coding is done and the way u.s players are non compatable, in the uk you can play dvds from any country, they either come that way or u can just 'unlock' the region coding by pressing a sequence of numbers on your remote control - allowing you to watch any dvd from any country.
I know my cousins in l.a miss out because they can't play any other region than region 1! so frustrating!
One way around it I suppose is if you have a dvd burner on your computer and then you copy the dvd - reformatting it for region 1 - that should work but whether it does or not i have no idea.
Although for all my griping here - you can actually buy more french and saunders dvds in the u.s than you can in the uk (you guys have 6) over in england theres only two!! -
